1. What was the Inspiration behind your derby name?

It’s a play on words / reference from a freestyle motocross clothing company for Women.
2. How many years have you been skating?

9 years and counting.
3. Are you a Blocker or Jammer?

I love Jamming but I can also block if needed.
4. What do you love about playing roller derby?

I love the challenge and skill behind it, I had never played a sport until Roller Derby and I love being able to push my limits as a skater and see what I am made of. It has been the best feeling to see my progression over time in this sport and to see my hard work pay off.
5. Do you have any other hobbies?

I ride Dirtbikes and I love going to concerts.

The team named me.
2) How many years have you been skating?

11 years
3) Are you a Blocker or Jammer?

Blocker
4) What do you love about playing roller derby?

I love the family. The support that is given, and of course I love hitting my friends!
5) Do you have any other hobbies?

I am a belly dancer, and I like to go hike in the redwoods.

1) What was the Inspiration behind your derby name?

My name was originally Xtra Springkillz, like a more to love as stated in a hypathetical LOL Cats meme (imagine a fat cat with a cupcake) but over the years it got shortened to Springkills

2) How many years have you been skating?

I've been skating my whole life but I've been playing Roller Derby and Skating aggressively for the past decade

3) Are you a Blocker or Jammer?

A blocker

 4) What do you love about playing roller derby?

I love rollerskating and playing a full contact sport as an adult is amazing. There's something so special about Roller Derby that really reminds you who you are, it saved my soul.

5) Do you have any other hobbies?

I love to skate the street, banked track, trails, skateparks, and the rink but when I'm not skating; I love to sing Karaoke or in my livingroom as an aspiring guitar, ukulele & piano player. I also love costuming / makeup (any excuse to dress up or put together a costume is a good one), historical anachronism and riding my Vespa with the Pleasanton Vesparados!

1.What was the Inspiration behind your derby name?

As a new skater one thing that I found cool about my initial skill set is going back and forth really fast on my skates which reminded me of a bee! Then I just stuck killer in front of it to make it scary! But I'm super stoked about it and I feel the name is sticking pretty well!
2. How many years have you been skating?

I’ve been skating for about 2 years but I just started roller derby in June of 2023.
3. Are you a Blocker or Jammer?

Haven’t decided on a position but I think all my skills are lining up to be a jammer.
4. What do you love about playing roller derby?

I love learning new skills and really practicing how to use them as I’ve only been a solo skater so it’s cool to have a team to work with.
5. Do you have any other hobbies?

I like to try new things! Derby is my only hobby that has stuck. But I love to pole dance and I enjoy anything outdoors hiking, skating, going to the beach.

1. What was the Inspiration behind your derby name?  

I wrestled in high school, so the original inspiration was Hulk Hogan. But I’m also a mad scientist with an alter ego, so the Hulk was equally inspiring!

Since 2019 (4 years)
3. Are you a Blocker or Jammer?  

Jammer!

4. What do you love about playing roller derby? 

I love our team! There are so many inspiring, uplifting, and encouraging people on our team! I love skating and always enjoy hitting my friends at the end of a hard day 😅
5. Do you have any other hobbies?  
Getting outdoors! Trail running, hiking, camping, and off-roading! And running around after my three kids :)

1. What was the Inspiration behind your derby name?

 I have not chosen a name yet. I think I will go by Ari for now as I am being indecisive. I did pick a number! #17
2.How many years have you been skating?

On and off since childhood.

3.Are you a Blocker or Jammer?

 I am not sure just yet. I do enjoy both. 

4.What do you love about playing roller derby?

I like how active it’s making me and the comradery.
5.Do you have any other hobbies?  

I like reading, watching a lot of tv and going to music festivals.

Tank girl a comic book character

2. How many years have you been skating?

I would say 6 all together but actively like 3 years on and off due to moving.

Blocker mostly jammer when needed :)

4. What do you love about playing roller derby?  

The sport and challenging yourself for constant growth and learning as well as team bonding.

Cross-stitch dungeon & dragons , hippy spiritual stuff as well. Reading and art.

1) What was the Inspiration behind your derby name?
I love my Saturday morning cartoons, and old school looney toons has just enough violence to soothe my soul :)
2) How many years have you been skating?
7? Mayyyyyybe 8
3) Are you a Blocker or Jammer?
I’m wherever I need to be, but I hate cardio so I prefer to be a blocker.
4) What do you love about playing roller derby?
Hitting my friends, and the community. Mostly the hitting though, it's like fight club on skates only we tell everyone about it.
5) Do you have any other hobbies?
Drawing, painting and reading. I have a mini library at home that includes everything from comic books to pieces on current scientific finds.

A serial killer and a cartoon character
2. How many years have you been skating?

5 years on quads many many years on inlines.
3. Are you a Blocker or Jammer?

I'm a blocker when I need to block and a jammer when I need to jam.
4. What do you love about playing roller derby?

The athleticism of the sport.
5. Do you have any other hobbies?

Photography, Being mom and wife.

1) What was the Inspiration behind your derby name?

My husband referred to me as T Money once when we had just started dating. And since then it just stuck ! I guess you would say T Money is my badass alter ego.
2) How many years have you been skating?
I’ve been skating for less than a year ! I bought my very first pair of skates at the end of a pub crawl during my 40th birthday party. It may have been a drunken decision to start skating but it was one of my best drunken decisions I’ve made.
3) Are you a Blocker or Jammer?
I’m not sure yet ! I’m just super pumped to be on skates and be a part of the team !!
4) What do you love about playing roller derby?

As a busy working mom, my day revolves around doing things for others and roller derby has given me something for ME. When I’m out on the track skating with my team I am literally giggling and smiling ear to ear (even when I’m falling on my ass) I love it !
5) Do you have any other hobbies?

Most my day is taken up raising babies and taking care of kiddos ! But I love all things jewelry and fashion, dressing up and styling different looks brings me joy, if I’m not on skates you’ll see me in heels and decked out in jewelry .

1. What was the Inspiration behind your derby name?  

I have a few nicknames from my kids, but Mayhem seemed to fit the best because I cause it wherever I go.
2.How many years have you been skating?

Since I was 12.  Inline and now Quad skates

3.Are you a Blocker or Jammer?  

Still figuring that out, but I just do what the girls on the team tell me to do ;)

4.What do you love about playing roller derby?  

The camaraderie, support and positive feedback my teammates give while learning new skills. 

5.Do you have any other hobbies?  
Lots....insomnia is a blessing and a curse

It just felt right - life is wild and unpredictable and I guess so am I. 
2. How many years have you been skating?

Few months, tops

3. Are you a Blocker or Jammer?  

I'm too new to know what I'm better at. As I build my skills I will figure out where I belong.

4. What do you love about playing roller derby?  

Camaraderie, a safe space to get some aggression out, the chance to push myself to learn new skills.

Baking, CrossFit, weightlifting

1. What was the Inspiration behind your derby name?  

Haven't got my derby name yet.
2. How many years have you been skating?

I think it's only been 3 months or so. I have never roller skated prior to joining the team.

3. Are you a Blocker or Jammer?  

Blocker.

4. What do you love about playing roller derby?  

It's much more complex & intricate & has plenty of nuance than just skating & hitting people around a roller rink. To me, it's very similar to football but on skates.

5. Do you have any other hobbies?  

Football, working out, playing sports in general, martial arts, anime, manga, gaming, cosplay, learning more about my heritage & culture, amongst others.
